Since launching our new google maps and flickr mashup creation tool iMapFlickr two weeks ago users have created around 500 Google maps with flickr photosets.
We've been busy too, and have introduced a number of new features. We've started announcing updates on get satisfaction, but there's been so many updates we thought we'd list them here.
All maps will be automatically updated with all these new features.
The really big updates
Enlarge image option
The popup bubble on the map containing the image title and thumbnail now has an enlarge option. Click it to marvel at the swanky enlarge animation, then feast your eyes on the larger image. If we find a description for the image it will also be displayed, otherwise, it will default to the title. Enlarged images can be closed using the [-] symbol in the top right.
Full screen maps
Full screen maps are now available as a direct link from your account pages or clickable from the embedded maps - look for the [+] Full Screen link
New mapping option - create a map by searching
Create maps based on searching your photostream rather than mapping entire photosets, once you have entered the flickr credentials you want to map, there is an additional search field to create a map spanning your entire photostream based on a keyword search. This will only be a good as your tagging skills on flickr though!
The smaller updates
Sharing
All maps now come with links to addtoany.com, so you can share your maps via facebook, twitter, or your favourite social network
Icons
We've added a few small icons to the Google map popups
Mouse wheel support
We'd initially disabled this, but its now been re-enabled for embedded and linked maps. It is disabled when you are creating or editing a map however.
Did we miss anything?
Probably, or maybe there's some stuff we havn't done get. In fact, there's quite a few things we haven't done yet, but we're working on it.
We're always open for feedback. Either comment below or on our get satisfaction page.
