For the last few months, we've been hidden away in the Frame Digital secret lab playing with a new website making heavy use of the Google Maps and Flickr APIs. After getting our way through a mountain of coffee, lots of late nights and more than just a few beers, we finally finished our new google maps and flickr mashup creation tool iMapFlickr.
Its a nifty website that allows users (maybe even you) to create customisable Google Maps using flickr photosets. Building this sort of thing from scratch takes a fair bit of expertise in javascript, HTML, databases and understanding of the Google and Flickr APIs, which is beyond the abilities of your average blogger or facebook users. So we thought we'd remove the hard work and head scratching and build a tool that does it for you.
Here's an example we created showing various pics of sunsets from a users photostream:
We see this project as a foray into the world of the perpetual beta, and have a number of other features planned, including integration with Facebook and Twitter, but one thing at a time.
Go head over to imapflickr.com and take a look for yourself.
